When should I be concerned about my child's speech and language skills?

First of all, speech and language skills develop at various rates.  It is important to talk to your child's doctor about any concerns and attend well-child visits to ensure your child is on the right track for speech and language.  Still not sure? Contact us.  We would be happy to provide you with resources about developmental milestones appropriate for your child's age. A comprehensive speech/language evaluation is the most accurate way to tell how your child is performing in various areas in comparison to same age peers.

How long will my child need therapy?

Every child is different.  Some children will not need therapy at all after the initial evaluation is completed.  Some children are dismissed rather quickly, and others require therapy for a longer period of time.

What do I need to do in order for my child to be evaluated?

Your child's Primary Care Physician (PCP) will usually need to send a referral for Speech Therapy to us, then we will need you to fill out some information to learn more about your child to prepare for their comprehensive speech/language evaluation.  Sometimes, a referral is not necessary.  Contact us and we will help you through the process.

How much does an evaluation or therapy session cost?

Cost is dependent on your insurance coverage.  Some insurances cover the cost completely, some require a co-pay, and some do not cover speech therapy at all.  Call us and we will help check your coverage.  For those without insurance, we also accept private pay patients.  We accept all major credit cards and most Health Savings Accounts (HSA).
